About the Project

Salt & Straw, Portland’s cult-favorite scoop shop – now beloved nationwide – tasked us with upleveling their visual presence online and in shops, to better reflect the quality of their handmade, high-end flavors. Since 2011, cousins Tyler and Kim Malek have influenced an entire industry with iconic, tantalizing and thoughtful flavors, with fans lining up around the block for a taste of their culinary magic. Could we transfer some of that in-shop mojo to the online and digital marketing experience? We responded through a combination of mouth-watering images and visual storytelling to entice and educate their legions of loyal followers. Working with premier photographers, ice cream stylists, illustrators and copywriters, the new wave of imagery enhanced click-through rates and kept Salt & Straw’s dedicated fanbase notified of the next big flavor drop.
