About the Project
CO Projects was engaged by Sockeye Creative to design the identity for PeaceHealth, a hospital system in the Pacific Northwest. PeaceHealth’s history of independence, community and courageous compassion became the organizing principles for our visual direction. These principles led to the work of Sister Corita Kent, and wood sculptor Leroy Setziol. Both were artists who put a modernist spin on their spiritual practices. Graphic elements in the work of Kent & Setziol were inspired by pop art, NW Native motifs and Scandinavian pattern design, all of which informed the identity. These influences coalesced into a logo that evolves PeaceHealth’s previous identity into a mark that’s graphic, fluid and iconic, while embodying peace, comfort and a sense of place in the Northwest.
