About the Project
Boyd’s Coffee is one of the first US companies to utilize compostable coffee pods. K-cups are notorious not only for their convenience and popularity, but also for the plastic waste they create. Our solution to that drawback? Communicate the sustainability story in a compelling way, and educate the consumer about the amount of plastic waste and how these pods were made to compost. We had already given the Boyd’s brand a conversational voice with the tagline, Established 1900, seriously. So we extended that personality onto this new type of product, exclaiming that Boyd’s coffee pods are, 100% compostable, seriously 100% compostable. The graphic treatment wraps from the top of the box to the front in an unusually bold way, so the billboarding on shelf is hard to miss.
